Audacity Multisport

My Story
My name is Joe Berman. After serving 10 years as an armor officer in the U.S. Army, I left to pursue my passion of coaching triathlon full-time. I have coached athletes to their first finish line and athletes that have been racing for many years. I have coached athletes in distances from super sprint to iron distance. I have coached athletes in their 20s and athletes in their 70s. I also have experience coaching runners in distances from 5k to marathon. I personally have competed in dozens of triathlon and running events, completing 5 iron distance triathlons, and have qualified for both the Ironman and Ironman 70.3 World Championships.

I currently live in Germany with my wife, Sherlyn, our son, Lionel, and our 2 dogs, Maka and DJ.
My Philosophy
I understand that the needs of each athlete are different. This is true of the mental side of the sport as well as physical. I first seek to understand you as an athlete and person (What motivates you? What intimidates you? What gets you excited to train and excited to race? How much can you currently take on given your current ability level and life circumstances?) and apply a plan suited specifically to you, with insightful feedback to keep you on track.
I design workouts using metrics such as pace, heart rate, and power, but rely heavily on your feedback on how training feels (perceived effort) to adjust your plan. I'll also tune in closely to your levels of motivation and enjoyment of training and racing as you progress, as maintaining this is critical to achieving your goals and longevity in the sport.
